Working a desk job and having a bbl. Will it damage the results?

Q: When getting a Brazilian Butt Lift and having a job where you sit all day at a desk. Will this damn the fat long term? I know you have to take off between 10-14 days. But when returning back to work what is highly recommended?

A: I perform a lot of Brazilian Butt Lifts each week in my Atlanta area surgery center. Many of my patients need to get back to their desk jobs a few weeks after surgery. I recommend they sit on a nursing pillow when they return to work. This allows them to sit comfortably at their desks while avoiding putting pressure on their new backsides!

Do I have enough fat for a bbl that will be long lasting?

Do I have enough fat for a bbl that will be long lasting?

Q: I would like a hourglass shape with a big booty. Do I have enough fat or would I be wasting my money?

A: Thank you for your question. It is difficult to answer your question fully because your pictures are from the waist up only. I can’t fully see your fat stores and your butt is not in the picture at all. I can’t see what you are starting with and I don’t know what look you wish to achieve. I perform several Brazilian Butt lifts each week in my Atlanta area surgery center. In general, the key to long lasting results from fat transfer to the butt is to maintain your preoperative weight. I can’t stress that enough. Some fat will not survive the transfer process. It’s difficult to predict exactly how much, but I estimate 70-80% of the transferred fat survives the surgery. Once the harvested fat is transferred to your butt, it behaves just like the fat everywhere else on your body – it grows and shrinks with fluctuations in your weight. I always like to remind my patients that there is an additional benefit to the Brazilian Butt Lift – it reshapes your entire midsection with liposuction. Even if you do lose a little weight, your new shape with a flatter abdomen and smaller waist is maintained. That’s why it is one of my favorite procedures!

Q: Well I want liposuction and I was wondering if when they take my belly fat if they could pass it to my butt?

A: The procedure you are describing is called a Brazilian Butt Lift. I perform this several times each week in my Atlanta area surgery center. I use liposuction to remove fat from the midsection of the body – usually abdomen, flanks and lower back – and then inject this fat into the buttocks and/or hips to achieve fullness. The result is an hourglass shape with a flat tummy.

Is there a non surgical method like injections to give me a butt?

Is there a non surgical method like injections to give me a butt?

Q: Hi, I have done squats forever and my butt has not bulged, still flat as a board.

A: While I understand the temptation to look to alternative methods to create a shapely backside, please avoid butt injections. These ā€œproceduresā€ are NOT performed by board certified plastic surgeons – in many cases they are not performed by doctors at all. There is no telling what is being injected into your body. Some of the saddest patients I have seen in my office in recent years have undergone these injections with disastrous results. The areas frequently become infected which often results in hospitalization and sometimes more surgery and even death. I have seen women lose limbs because the injected material clogs blood vessels. This is not a safe way to enhance your figure.

The Brazilian Butt Lift is my favorite way to create curves in the lower body. During this operation, I use liposuction to harvest fat and to flatten the tummy and whittle the waist. I then transfer your own fat in a sterile fashion to your buttocks and/or hips to fill them out. Good candidates are in good health and close to their ideal weight with some fat stores on their bodies. The other option to consider is buttock implants. Implants are made of solid silicone and can be placed in the butt to create fullness. I have posted a link to my before and after picture gallery. If you decide this is the surgery for you, make sure to choose a board certified plastic surgeon with a lot of experience in the procedure.

Is liposuction included in a Brazilian Butt Lift?

Is liposuction included in a Brazilian Butt Lift?

I was wanting to get lipo on my stomach hips and thighs plus a Brazilian butt lift, is all that needed when they take it anyway?

A: I perform several Brazilian Butt Lifts each week in my surgery center outside Atlanta, Ga. While liposuction is included in the procedure, some people choose to add on additional areas (for an additional fee). The Brazilian Butt lift includes reshaping the lower torso. If that yields enough fat for the butt enlargement, any additional liposuction you require would be performed at an additional cost. Depending on my patient’s fat stores, sometimes I need to harvest fat from other areas in order to get enough fat to give them the size and shape butt they desire. This is something that can be discussed in a consultation

Butt Augmentation – Transfer only to hips and butt or….

Butt Augmentation – Transfer only to hips and butt or….

Q: …with a Butt Augmentation – would you consider some fat Transfer to the breast during the procedure or only to hips and butt. If so would this be considered a separate procedure and how would the cost be affected. I don’t need any added to my hips because once my waist and flanks are lipo’d I know the ratio will be fine. I anticipate they will need to take the max allowed of fat out of me but theres no way that 4-5 Liters of fat can be put in my butt so there will definitely be some left over ?

A: One of the great things about fat transfer is that fat can be transferred to almost any body part. Assuming you have enough fat, I don’t see why fat can’t be transferred to both your butt and breasts in the same procedure. Most surgeons price fat transfer like liposuction – each area carries its own price.
