A: During a full tummy tuck, the area just above the vagina (the mons pubis) is generally lifted as well. Be sure to address your concerns with your plastic surgeon prior to surgery. Some people opt for liposuction of this area. A tummy tuck generally lifts the skin, but only liposuction will remove excess fat.

A: Before a tummy tuck, you should be at or near your goal weight and your weight should be stable. This is for 2 reasons. You will have your best result at a lower BMI. Additionally, weight changes after a tummy tuck can compromise your result.
Can I recover from my tummy tuck on my own?
Q: So I have next to no support in my decision to go forward with my tummy tuck procedure. I have nobody to pick me up, nothing.. am i crazy to want to cab it home and heal on my own? Since all of my family and friends are extremely judgmental, how long should I stay hidden before I can hide the fact that i went through with it? keep in mind i wont be needing any muscle repair. I don’t have an extreme amount of extra skin so it will be stretched pretty tight adding some liposuction in there as well. thanks!
A: You will need an adult caregiver for AT LEAST the first 24 hours after surgery. You can’t just get in a cab and head home alone. You will be on heavy pain meds and moving around (even just to the bathroom) will be difficult at first. You will probably need help with your first dressing change. I will not discharge patients from my surgery center without an adult to care for them. If you don’t want to enlist a friend or family member, consider hiring a private duty nurse or going to a recovery center for the first few days after your tummy tuck.
BBL ladies & doctors: what type of pillows do you use to sit on? For example, on the plane ride after BBL surgery?
My patients have had good success with the use of a nursing pillow (like a Boppy). Place it with the opening in the back so your new butt can rest in the opening with little or no pressure on it.

As part of the preparation for the procedure, your ABS will be strategically marked to help guide the doctor through the sculpting process. Dr. Jimerson has several options to use during the breast lift surgery, which will depend on your breast size and shape, the current position of your areola, how much your breast is sagging the quality of your skin.
Options include an incision around the areola; around the areola and then vertically down to the breast crease; and an incision around the areola, down to the breast crease and then horizontally along the breast crease. After the incision is made, the breast tissue is reshaped and lifted to enhance the breast contour and firmness. The nipple and areola is repositioned to a natural, more youthful position. If required, Dr. Jimerson will reduce the areolas by excising skin along the perimeter. Finally, excess skin is removed from the breast to make up for the loss of elasticity.
The incisions are then closed, and sutures are placed in layers deep within the breast tissue to provide support. In addition to sutures, Dr. Jimerson may use skin adhesives and surgical tape to close the incision.

All incisions are used to insert the breast implant, regardless of the type used. They include periareolar incision, which is made around the areola.
The inframammary incision is made underneath the breast, in the area where it meets the body. In the transaxillary incision, access for the implant is made underneath the arm, in the armpit area.
There are two options for placing the implant; one is under the pectoral muscle, the other is right behind the breast tissue, over the pectoral muscle. This will depend on the type of implant, your body type, how much increase in size is desired and Dr. Jimerson’s preference.
Once the implants are inserted, the incisions are closed using sutures, surgical tape or surgical glue. You’ll be able to see the results immediately after surgery, but some swelling will be present.
