Breast lift now or later?

Q: My sister is 24 and is wondering whether she would need to wait to have a lift until after she has children.

A: A full breast lift (mastopexy) will not only be aesthetically pleasing, but probably also reduce neck and shoulder pain as well as skin rashes under her breasts. Timing related to childbirth is personal. Based on the picture you submitted, your sister is a candidate for a full breast lift. Part of the procedure involves nipple repositioning with an incision around the areola. It is possible this will interfere with future breastfeeding. If she is planning to start a family now, I would advise she wait until after she is done. If, however, she is not planning to become pregnant right away she could definitely have the procedure now. A breast lift doesn’t affect fertility or pregnancy at all. She may need a revision afterward.
